Blush Café | Barbados: The Epitome of Aesthetic

Barbados is well-known for its beautiful beaches and rich carnival culture. I don't think I have ever talked to anyone who visited Barbados and didn't fall in love. Barbados is a small island in the Caribbean sea and no matter where you go in Barbados you'll always find the cozy small town feel, but one thing many people don't expect when they visit is the absolutely amazing experiences you can have on the island. Now even though I am a native, I still like to experience everything like I am a tourist, it gives me a whole new outlook on my adventure. Now, what if I told you there is a place where everything was just so cute, a place where you can enjoy pastel-colored goodies and sip on delicious beverages against huge flower walls, a place that I can say is one of the most instagrammable cafés in Barbados. If you haven't seen this place splashed all over you Instagram feed, you've been missing out. This is one of the cutest places to eat at and having been established since 2020, they've certainly come a long way. With all the buzz surrounding this café, I was dying to go and see for myself. Here’s a café review of Blush Café, Hastings Road, Barbados. I visited on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning with some friends for brunch we booked a reservation the week before to secure our spot. This isn't a necessity as you can walk in but we wanted to ensure we got a seat since the café can be pretty full. This was no issue for us on a weekday but I’ve heard stories of people leaving with disappoint since they're unable to get a table on weekends. I arrived with high expectations as its a favourite with bloggers and I must give it high praise indeed. There was already such a lovely buzz in the café when I arrived and the classy yet chic ambience hits you as soon as you enter. There were lots of people having coffee, breakfast, chatting with friends and some just simply enjoying the ambience. At the front of the café, there was a wide array of pastries and goodies and what I absolutely loved is how they had everything covered, having visited cafés before where the pastries were all uncovered was such a turnoff, seeing this brought a huge smile to my face. The décor was simply breathtaking, with an elegant tone to it all. The chandelier that hung just above the check out counter was such a nice touch. Barbados is probably most well-know for its beautiful beaches and rich carnival culture. I don't think I have ever talked to anyone who visited Barbados and didn't fall in love. If you book a reservation and get there a bit earlier just spend some time taking it all in it will make it easier to enjoy the experience because you already have a head start enjoying your time there.

The menu was extensive with some many options each sounding so good as you read through each choice. I loved the layout of the menu, but disappointedly they were all unlaminated leaving them scoffed when we ran our hands over them as we made our choices. RELATED: The Morning Routine That Will Change Your Life for the Better First up, we were provided with our nicely chilled glasses of water while we got reacquainted after not seeing each other for such a long time since the pandemic started. Our waitress was so polite and warm, I loved her demeanor and she was well versed on what they had to offer even when asked what was on the menu for the specialty shakes.

We couldn't decide what to get so we ended up ordering ABC Wraps(this stands for Avocado, Bacon and Cheese for all who didn't know) and Fish Tacos. I had one of the wraps and let me just tell you that this was one of the best wraps I tasted in a while and paired with the refreshing Flirty Fusion, this meal was to die for. My friend and I both ordered a flirty fusion a mango sorbet with a mixture of strawberries and apple juice, simple ingredients made into perfection. The taste was so complex but not in a way that made you indecisive about whether you like it rather the opposite, it was tropical what I would say Barbados would taste like if that were remotely possible. Something that I truly loved about the menu options as well, was the healthy options they had on the menu so you weren't restricted to just choosing something that wouldn't go with you eating habits or health choices.

RELATED: Morning Routine Tips for a Successful Day! Now I have had quite a lot and avocado and wraps in different brunch places but I have to say that this was 10/10 for presentation. The moment it arrives it looked simply stunning on the plate and I love the addition of the paprika and parsley as a garnish. Now as astonishing as this presentation was, the paprika became a turn off once we started eating, it got all on our hands which made the meal a lot messier than initially intended plus I was wearing white so that was super scary but it did compliment the taste.

A Café Review: Blush Café Barbados| TheLuxePlannerLife The tables are not to close together but of course the depends on your personal comfort but it certainly felt like quite an intimate experience with the close tables next to us(don't worry they honor our national pandemic guidelines). I imagine it must become quite difficult to get seating on a busy and bustling weekend so I would definitely recommend you reserve a seat.

I did have a quick wander through the café, and spotted quite a few people snapping away at their food or the quotes on the walls. The selling point of the café is clearly the aesthetic décor and colourful wall art, it’s very chic and girly, not dissimilar to the likes of Peggy Porschen and the Feya Café in London, which is also super popular with bloggers.

The highlight of my day was definitely taking photos against the stunning and iconic butterfly mural at Blush Café, I love the way it just captures the form of all who stand before it giving the illusion that the wings are your own. It is a great way to capture the full concept of the café going perfectly with that girly aesthetic.

Blush– 4/5

My overall verdict? I loved the décor, and yes it was totally instagrammable so I think its a great place to go with friends and loved ones! Food – 4/5 Service – 4/5 Décor/ Ambience – 5/5 ______ Have you visited the Blush Café before? Feeling Inspired? Check out my more from Kae-Luxe here...
